It's Giveaway Day (well, Week, really) over at Sew, Mama, Sew! and I'm offering up something fabulous.
I have been following along, mostly, with the Zakka Style Sew-Along, and I jumped ahead, thanks to Sara at Sew Sweetness, to the Zip Organizer. Then I decided to downsize it into a wallet. I loved the result so much that I have made several wallets this week. They all have a charcoal linen base with fun designer cotton prints as pockets and accents. The binding is hand-sewn. You'll have to wait to see the original organizer that I made until its time comes in the sew-along! For a sneak peek, check out my Facebook page.
This lovely prize features some Joel Dewberry prints. It zips closed and has a zip pocket on the back for change. The inside has 3 card slots on one side and three slightly larger slip pockets on the other.
I do a search or look at fave shops. This is a gorgeous organizer, too bad I'm unlucky number 1!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! You never know, one could be lucky!
DeleteThis is beautiful. I usually browse specific items, but I do sometimes randomly explore.

DeleteWhat an adorable wallet! I've been seeing the Zakka posts all over blog land, but this is one of my favorite projects. ;)
ReplyDeleteMost of the time when I'm shopping on etsy I'm looking for fabric, and I have a handful of shops that I prefer so I tend to go to those first. :)
Thanks for the chance to win!
Thanks for stopping by! I am loving the Zakka Style book. If only I had time to keep up with the sew a long projects!

ReplyDeleteI usually look for something specific.
ReplyDeleteI love this! I usually just type in what I am searching for but sometimes if I'm not sure what exactly I want then I will look at treasuries
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't really shop on etsy, because I could make most everything on there myself. I do search for supplies every once in awhile. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI use Etsy mostly for supplies as well. Is nice to be able to support other Etsy shops while selling stuff in my own.
DeleteThis is such a cute wallet!! I type in what I am looking for, but sometimes I then end up looking at other things anyhow. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Christy you know I love all your stuff. I have already liked you on facebook. The way I shop on etsy is usually by using the search engine for specific things I am looking for. Sometimes I check out favorite shops as well.
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI do a little of each, really, just depending. Often I search for specifics, if I'm gift shopping. But I'll also browse fabric shops just by the category. And I like to watch the page where the latest items sold flow by, just to get ideas of what is out there, and what people are buying.
ReplyDeleteI search for specific things on Etsy. I don't do much browsing. I love the wallet, thank you for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI don't shop much on etsy, but I like to look at shops for specific items. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteGreat wallet! I love that it zips and keeps everything secure. Beautiful and functional.
ReplyDeleteI usually search a broad category or theme on Etsy (like hoodies, wrap skirts, or weather). kristie_keely(at)yahoo(d0t)com
I usually search for something specific, but I do like to browse the art category occasionally. Usually at the minute though, spare cash is tight so I tend to know exactly what I want to buy rather than having a little splurge on a few things, it's a case of choosing from the search results.
ReplyDeleteI usually search for something specific.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!

Liked you on FB! :)
ReplyDeletemelissajpalmer at yahoo dot com
I usually do a search unless I'm looking for something that I've bought before. Then I'll go back to the shop I purchased it from. :) Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI do ALL of those things on Etsy...I'm kinda random like that. I also find stuff through other blogs. jinglesells at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI do a little of all but mostly I seem to check out my favorite shops, those shops grow from blog reading, etc.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I really like the fabrics you chose. And I love shopping on Etsy. I usually go looking for a specific item (say, "earrings"), but quickly get distracted by all the wonderful things available and end up shopping by browsing.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I have quite a fabric stash thanks to wandering around Etsy.
DeleteI usually go to Etsy shops from the blogs I follow. So now I can follow you and look in your shop every time I get an update. I want the wallet. Bad. Really.

ReplyDeleteIve only just started buying from Etsy, for some zips
ReplyDeleteWhat's your favorite zipper shop? I love Zip It. I am slightly addicted to zippers.

ReplyDeletesummerkillebrew@gmail.com
I most often check in on my favorite shops, but sometimes hop on to search for something specific too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely wallet! I'd love to win it. Regarding Etsy, I look most ways, either 1) going to shops I buy from repeatedly, 2) searching for a specific item, or 3) looking at curated collections for things that pique my interest.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely colours. I don't have online banking so I don't shop on Etsy.
ReplyDeleteWhen I go on Etsy I look up specific things e.g. pincushions. Beautiful giveaway. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteI usually shop based on what I am looking for and do a specific search then browse. But things on the front page always catch my eye.
This is such a beautiful wallet! I search my favorite etsy shops, browse generally and search for key things. I feel like I'm on Etsy all the time!
ReplyDeleteI shop from Etsy all the time; how I shop from Etsy depends on what type of shopping I'm doing. If I'm looking for something in particular (this is usually true if I'm shopping for supplies: fabric, zippers et al.), then I will do a specific word search. If I'm looking for a gift, I'll first check my favorite shops and also I look at treasuries by searching them or through tags. I find new shops I like that way also. I never browse just new listings, but sometimes, when I need a break, I'll browse a category that I know I like.
ReplyDeleteI start by looking for specific items, but once i've found a shop I like, i tend to shop their first. I quite like the suggestions section as well, based on things you might like.
ReplyDeleteI start out wwith a specific search but tend to get side tracked when I jump to a shop to look at something then I just have to look at everything in the shop and that in turn makes me change my specific search to something else that I saw in a shop and it keeps going that way, for hours sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI usually type in a specific search when I shop! ^_^ Fingers crossed! ^_^
ReplyDeleteI ahve never shopped on Esty before but should oneday do so. Sounds fun
ReplyDeleteI'm a browser, I'll search for something, and when I find things that fit my search I'll often then go through that person's store checking out their wares. I love poking through Etsy, I've found so many amazing artisans that way!
ReplyDeleteWow - really cute! I love that charcoal gray. And Joel Dewberry is just a genius.
ReplyDeleteSo far on Etsy I've shopped with different sellers because somebody linked to them...they're a sponsor on a site, etc. Not so much browsing.
Thanks for the chance! lwghosts at yahoo dot com
Love this little wallet/pouch - adorable! I often click through to a front page listing and then check out the rest of that shop. I have also searched for specific things though.
